How to access Vista Cloud - VEC
To access Vista Cloud, first log into Citrix with your credentials as you would normally do
On the Citrix log in page, you will select the “2022 Standard Desktop”.
Once the desktop loads, go to the search bar at the bottom of your desktop and type “Default Apps”
Select “Default apps” to open the area where you can set your default applications and scroll down to web browser.
If not already set, click on web browser, and set the default to Microsoft edge
Note: This is necessary to be able to log in to Vista and any other application that uses your Microsoft account
Once this is done, you will open the Vista client and select the “-“ next to Vista Server, to remove the old Vista server as it will no longer work. This will also allow you to remove any unneeded connections.
Next, you will type in the new Vista server and click on the check mark so that Vista validates the server.
The new Vista Server address is BA7B-APP.viewpoint.local
Once Vista validates the new Vista Server, click on “Sign in With Trimble ID”
Note: Classic ID is no longer Supported and will not work
You will now be redirected to the Trimble log in page on your web browser (Edge), after 2 initial screens, where you will enter your NorthStar email address (your email is your Trimble ID) and click next
If you get an error message stating that your account doesn’t exist, click on “Create a Trimble ID”
Select “United States” and click “Next”
Enter your First Name, Last Name, and Email address, then check the disclaimer box and click “Agree and Continue”
You will then be sent an email with a verification code for you to enter in the next screen
Once the verification code has been entered, the next screen will ask you to create a password. Enter the same password you use to log into Citrix/Email (So you won’t have to remember another password)
Once the password has been created and you hit continue, you will need to configure your account preferences and the click “Next”
Once the account preferences are configured, you will see a screen asking you to setup multifactor authentication. You can select “I’ll enable MFA later”.
Once the first-time setup of your account is completed or your account is converted, you will see a prompt appear, letting you know your account was created successfully and you can now click on the “launch Vista” button to launch Vista for first time use.
Make sure to check the box for always allow and then click open. It will only show up once during first time setup.
You may encounter an Updating application screen. Let that run for a few minutes and then you will get a prompt to restart the client. Please make sure any popups or Edge browser screens are closed and then click on the viewpoint client Icon again and log in.
Once this is done, Vista will open, and you can then close the web browser.
